O filme “Never Rarely Sometimes Always”, sobre os obstáculos que uma adolescente encontra para fazer um aborto, é o filme mais nomeado aos Independent Spirit Awards, os principais prémios do cinema independente norte-americano.
Com sete nomeações, o filme de Eliza Hittman lidera a lista de indicados, sendo seguido de perto por “Minari“, a história de uma família de imigrantes sul-coreanos que tentam construir uma vida no sul rural.
Ambos os filmes competem na categoria de melhor filme e são acompanhados por “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”, “Nomadland” e “First Cow”.
Destaque ainda para a nomeação de “Bacurau” na categoria de melhor filme internacional, e a entrega do Prémio Robert Altman a “One Night in Miami”.
De notar que qualquer filme nomeado a estes prémios não pode ter um orçamento superior a 22,5 milhões de dólares.
