“The Power of the Dog” foi o grande vencedor da noite de entrega dos prémios da Academia Britânica de Artes do Cinema e Televisão (BAFTA).
O filme de Jane Campion conquistou os prémios de melhor filme e melhor realização, os mais importantes da cerimónia que terminou há momentos.
“Dune”, que era um dos mais nomeados, foi o “rei” das categorias técnicas, levando para casa estatuetas pela fotografia, design de produção, som e efeitos visuais. “Belfast” foi o melhor filme britânico; “Encanto”, o melhor filme de animação; “Summer of Soul” conquistou o troféu de melhor documentário; e “Drive My Car” o de melhor filme estrangeiro.
Nas interpretações, a estatueta de melhor ator foi para Will Smith (King Richard); a distinção de melhor atriz coube a Joanna Scanlan (After Love); o melhor ator secundário foi entregue a Troy Kotsur (Coda); e Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) foi considerada a melhor atriz secundária.
