Numa noite em que “Poor Things” e “The Zone Of Interest” ganharam várias distinções na cerimónia de entrega dos prémios da Academia Britânica de Artes do Cinema e Televisão (BAFTA), foi “Oppenheimer” quem mais brilhou.
Christopher Nolan foi o melhor realizador, enquanto Cillian Murphy e Robert Downey Jr., ator e ator secundário, respetivamente, foram também distinguidos. Além destas premiações, o filme conquistou ainda estatuetas pela montagem, fotografia e banda-sonora.
No seu discurso, Nolan agradeceu a Donna Langley, à diretora da Universal Pictures, por o “deixar assumir algo bastante sombrio e ver o potencial disso”. Já Murphy, por sua vez, elogiou Nolan por ver algo nele que talvez “nem ele tenha visto”.
O evento foi realizado esta noite (18 de fevereiro) no Royal Festival Hall de Londres, em Southbank, com David Tennant como anfitrião. Realce ainda para a vitória de Emma Stone (Poor Things) na categoria de melhor atriz, enquanto Da’vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers) foi a melhor atriz secundária. Uma nota final para a melhor estreia de um argumentista, realizador ou produtor britânico, entregue aos vários nomes associados ao filme “Earth Mama“.
