Foram entregues os prémios Emmy que distinguem o que de melhor foi feito em televisão no último ano. Os prémios foram muito distribuídos entre diversas séries, sendo que a maior surpresa terá sido a derrota da favorita “Glee” na categoria de Melhor Série de Comédia, destronada por “Modern Familly”.
Quanto ao Drama “Mad Men” foi sem surpresa a vencedor, deixando um amargo na despedida de “Lost” que pese embora as seis nomeações nesta edição se despediu sem prémios.
Quanto às actrizes, Edie Falco venceu por “Nurse Jackie” desta vez na categoria de comédia após ter sido distinguida por três vezes na categoria de drama pela sua participação em “The Sopranos”. Já : Kyra Sedgwick arrecadou o prémio à quinta nomeação por “The Closer”.
Quanto às actores, : Jim Parsons por “The Big Bang Theory” venceu a concorrência e conquistou o prémio, ao passo que em Drama Bryan Cranston por “Breaking Bad” levou o prémio para casa.
