Foi hoje divulgada a Seleção Oficial da 75ª edição do Festival Internacional de Cinema de Cannes, evento que este ano acontece de 17 a 28 de maio.
O presidente do festival de Cannes, Pierre Lescure, e o delegado geral/diretor artístico Thierry Frémaux revelaram os títulos na Competição, Un Certain Regard e fora de competição numa conferência de imprensa em Paris esta manhã.
Nos destaques, e em Competição, David Cronenberg regressa a Cannes com “Crimes do Futuro“, estrelado por Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart e Viggo Mortensen. A acompanhar o canadiano encontramos nomes como James Gray (Armaggedon Time), Hirokazu Koreeda (Broker), Arnaud Desplechin (Brother and Sister), Park Chan-Wook (Decision to Leave), Jerzy Skolimowski (Eo), Kelly Reichardt (Showing Up), Claire Denis (Stars at Noon), Jean-Pierre Dardenne e Luc Dardenne (Tori and Lokita), Valeria Bruni Tedeschi (The Almond Tree), Cristian Mungiu (RMN), Mario Martone (Nostalgia) e Ruben Östlund (Triangle of Sadness).
Com a questão Ucrânia-Rússia a dominar as manchetes, Cannes proibiu as comitivas russas, mas não os cineastas. Por isso mesmo encontramos em competição Kirill Serebrennikov (Tchaïkovski’s Wife), cineasta russo que recentemente abandonou o país.
Os novos filmes de Lucas Dhont (Close), Ali Abbasi (Holy Spider), Tarik Saleh (Boy from Heaven), Saeed Roustaee (Leila’s Brothers) completam a competição.
Já na Un Certain Regard continua a “mistura” de novos nomes com outros mais consagrados, destacando-se novos filmes de Emin Alper (Burning Days), Marie Kruetzer (Corsage), Agnieszka Smocynsk (The Silent Twins) e Hlynur Pálmason (Volada Land).
Como anunciado previamente, “Elvis” de Baz Luhrmann e “Top Gun: Maverick” de Joseph Kosinski vão ser exibidos no certame, ambos fora de competição. Nesta secção será “Z” (Comme Z) de Michel Hazanvicius a abrir o festival. Novos filmes de Nicolas Bedos (Mascarade), Cédric Jimenez (November) e George Miller (Three Thousand Years of Longing) serão também exibidos.
De resto, e espalhados noutras secções (Midnight Screenings, Special Screenings, Cannes Première) encontramos Quentin Dupieux (Fumer Fait Tousser), Sergei Loznitsa (The Natural History of Destruction), Ethan Coen (Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind), Marco Bellocchio (Nightfall) e Rachid Bouchareb (Nos Frangins).
De notar que na próxima semana serão divulgados os títulos das secções paralelas ao certame, nomeadamente da Quinzena dos Realizadores e Semana da Crítica.
