O programa do festival de Sundance de 2012 está replete de obras que podem provocar alguma polémica pelas temáticas que abordam. Na secção documental (mais ligado a temáticas reais) essas fitas ganham mais força e «The Invisible War» é um desses trabalhos.
Realizado por Kirby Dick (This Film Is Not Yet Rated). em «The Invisible War» focamos a nossa atenção num dos maiores problemas no serviço militar nos EUA, onde aparentemente existem inúmeros casos de violações a mulheres que nunca chegam a ter resolução. Aliás, se virem o trailer abaixo, podem constatar que (segundo os autores) só 8% das queixas chegam mesmo a tribunais militares e só 2% dos acusados são efectivamente responsabilizados.
O documentário acompanha assim, recolhendo inúmeros testemunhos, casos reais de mulheres que afirmam ter sido violadas enquanto serviam o seu país.
