Foram hoje divulgados os nomeados aos British Independent Film Awards, também conhecidos como BIFA, destinados a premiar os melhores trabalhos independentes «made in Uk». «Broken» – que abriu a semana da crítica em Cannes – é a obra mais nomeada, com um total de nove nomeações, incluindo Melhor Filme, Melhor Realizador, Melhor Realizador em Estreia e Melhor Ator.
Logo atrás nos nomeados está «Berberian Sound Studio», o mais recente projeto de Peter Strickland. Com sete nomeações, a obra é uma das mais fortes da temporada, juntamente com «Sightseers», o novo trabalho do realizador de «Kill List», Ben Wheatley.
Uma nota ainda para «O Exótico Hotel Marigold», filme sensação no box-office que irá ter sequela, e «The Imposter». Com seis nomeações cada, estas são obras que têm uma palavra muito forte a dizer nestes prémios, sendo de destacar o facto de o segundo estar nomeado, não só para Melhor Filme como para também para Melhor Documentário.
